IOM Libya and the African Capacity Building Centre organized one Regional Humanitarian Border Management training session (02-06SEP19), for 20 participants working at middle-management level with border authorities from Niger and Libya.
The training aimed on one side at enhancing the knowledge, skills and abilities of the participants, while on the other side to contribute to the cross-fertilization between the different national practices and border management systems, to foster cross-border cooperation and good practices.
In turn, the participants acquired specific professional skills and knowledge on international humanitarian law, human rights and will be capacitated to better perform border management tasks and identify potential victims of trafficking or SGBV in mixed migration flows.
Ultimately, participants are now better equipped and skilled to provide adequate assistance and support to regular and irregular migrants.
